What the shiz? New firestone destination A/T negatively effect MPG?

Seems like I lost 1-2mpg when I put the A/T's on the WK last week. Is it the tread pattern or the fact im no longer driving on racing slicks?

When I changed from my winter tires to my summer tires, I've notice that my gas mileage was a little bit higher.

I've seen no change in mpg with Dest AT's, compared to the OEM GoodYears, and a set of replacement Fortera Tripletreads.

holy mac-ka-ral. I've noticed the same thing. I thought I'd get better mileage with 255 a/t's on(they are thinner/taller). My summer tires are 275/55/18

Re: What the shiz? New firestone destination A/T negatively effect MPG?

What size are the Dest AT's you put on ? I went with same size that came stock with my Overland (245 / 17's), and get over 20 mpg at 65 mph. IF you went with 255's your speedo calibration is incorrect which could account for the difference, plus those tires are heavier.

yep the AT's will be heavier all around including the sidewall, What ply is the tire? Mine are 3 ply sidewalls. Think positive, you will always have less flat tires as AT's hold up beter to pot holes, nails, screws etccccccc... from my experience.
