Where to mount a hand gun Lock Box ?

So I ordered one of those hand print lock boxs for my hand gun, and I am curious to get some Ideas on a safe place to mount it in my Jeep. I will be keeping it in there while Im driving, even though I have my CWP it has to stay hidden from view. but if I need to access it in an emergency I want to be able to get to it. I just want some opinions and maybe some pictures please. Thanks guys.

Re: Where to mount a hand gun Lock Box ?

what are the dimensions of the box.

i dont have kids or anything and i just put mine in the center console if I am wearing my SOB holster or inside the waist one. if its on my ankle I just leave it there.

and i never leave the gun i nthe car when i am not in the car.

Re: Where to mount a hand gun Lock Box ?

On the Commander forums (sorry if I'm referring another forum if I shouldn't be) someone makes a custom lock box for the center console. It's the same design in the WK so you should check it out and see if you can find some information on it.

Re: Where to mount a hand gun Lock Box ?

not that i can help but you are not talking about your service weapon in transport to and from work? I just keep mine in my rig or on a pancake holster near my body. I never leave it in the car though just because if my car were stolen and my gun along with it, it's a heap load of trouble for my job. The last thing you want is a serial number tied to you out on the loose somewhere.

Re: Where to mount a hand gun Lock Box ?

Those bio metric safes that use fingerprints are notoriously unreliable, far too expensive, and easily broken into. I am not trying to be a "know it all smartass", I am just letting you know the general consenus before a problem arises.

I dont have any kids either, but I dont work in night clubs as a photographer, and Im an elementary school teacher, so I do go places that I cant carry, and when I leave it in the Jeep I want it to be secure.

I really apprciate the advice. I havnt heard anything bad about he bio metric safes but then again I didnt read up on them. I really like the idea of the lockable center console I think im gona look more into that.
