Where's the BEST/CHEAPEST place to get 08+ Front end parts?

So it happened, i got in to an accident today, everyone is fine but the whole front bumper cover of my jeep is trashed, tow hooks are bet side ways and there is some fixable frame damage. Already had an estimate from my fav body shop of roughly $1700 depending on what the find when they take the bumper cover off. They said they will have to do some minor frame pulling because everything shifted to the pass side some ( my front end was swipped from drivers side to pass side) and my alignment is now way off.

I talked to the shop and they said they most likely cant do teh 08 front end swap for me unless i am willing to pitch in extra $$ because the parts are more expensive. So i am hoping i can find the Bumper cover, lower air dam (non textured paintable only) chrome grille chrome insert and all other parts needed.

However i DO NOT want the 08 plus head lights and this is why the shop does not really want to do this. I want to cut the humps clean off the 08 bumper and make it flush with the bottom of the head lights. I know there will be a small gap but i have a plan for that. They fear that cutting the humps might reduce the longevity of the bumper or paint but i dont see why, so i think if i get a bumper cover, cut it and fit it then give it to them they might go for it.

If i get everything 08+ needed minus the head lights, i will cut the bumper myself if i need to and it should fit just fine with the 08 bumper and grille and other parts.

This is all up in the air right now, i am still waiting for insurance to get setteled and the shop cant get my jeep in until Dec 6th. So it will sit in the drive way till then because i dont want to drive it with the front end all tweaked up like that.

theres tons of cheap bumpers on ebay. You can also get the 08 nonhid lights now aftermarket for like $100 for the set.

Hey, Ive been searching on ebay and LKQ and car-part and i cant find 08+ Head lights any where that cheap. the best i could find was about $90 each from rockauto.com.

I think i am going to try and do the whole swap now as long as i can afford the parts the insurance money wont cover.

I saw alot on Ebay for bumper covers and grilles but i could not find the support parts

ex Chrome insert bumper support, absorber, hardware etc.

Also, all the bumper covers i could on ebay list with holes for fog lights but non list with holes for the limited/overland chrome insert. I want that chrome insert but the cover needs to have provisions for it.

theres only one support part...its like $35 new. Theer is no absorber etc. Everything else is the same. Also...theres a mod to add the chrome insert. search 08hemi's posts

when i had my accident and did the 08+ upgrade, my body shop called the dealer and said the 08+ bumpers are the same exact price as the 05-07 bumpers. it didnt cost me a dime more to get the upgrade (except for buying the oem hid headlights, because mine were not damaged) get the prices from your dealer or J4J and show them to the body shop. also try car-part.com for the bumper, i was able to get all new parts from the dealer with my insurance picking up the tab.

Ok, So that means i can save some money now and do the chrome insert later then. Thats good to know. SO everything behind the bumper cover is the same though? Besides the $35 support part?

Do you think there is any way that the Body shop will reimburse me for buying these parts? I know last time i had an accident i got the check from the insurance company and it was made out to me then i gave that to the body shop. I dont mind doing the buying if the shop wont but id like to use the insurance money to pay for it.

Thanks Seven, I will look in to the pricing more. I think the shop is jut leary of the cutting the bumer thing, i really dont like the humps or the new style head lights and i know i can make it work. I will see what i can come up with.

Yea, I will load them up soon. It does not look bad in pics but the tow hook bent up the frame where it mounts and the everything is shifted to the pass side some. The hood gap is tighter on the drivers side now as well. Alignment is all out of wack now too.

Sorry for the side ways pics, i did not have time to rotate them.

The car that cut me off.

Gee, sorry guys. LOL they do say it comes in threes though.

I was looking around at prices today and i think i am going to try and do the full conversion. I will just have to save the extra money for new headlights and the lower air dam. (they are not replacing my air damn because its not damaged so that and the head lights will come out of my pocket.)

So just to re cap, because i know this has been discussed before. What is needed?

08+ Headlights,
Bumper cover,
Bumper support/absorber,
Lower air dam,
Chrome insert strip (not needed)
Grille
and any other repair parts my jeep needs.

LOL, the problem is i have $0 to do this, i need to do this within the insurance money. So hopefully i can have the check made to me, buy the parts and give them to the shop so i can get better prices. If i can do that, i can get a bumper cover new for less then half what they quoted, then i will have $ for the head lights and i will just need to buy the lower air dam. Eventually i will get the lower air damn painted and get the chrome insert but i can deal with the black air damn and no insert for now.

I found an aftermarket manufacturer 08 Chrome grille for $140 on ebay, and a bumper cover for $181 Free shipping, and a used lower air dam for $55 plus $75 shipping. (shipping on that is a bit steep though, i might try to talk them down)

I dont want the SRT front end, I am more of an offroad kind of person.

Even if i dont get to use the Check myself, As long as the shop can get the 08 bumper, and grille for the same cost i will cover the cost of the head lights and lower air dam.

I just ordered Left and Right Headlights off Ebay this weekend. They should be here by next tuesday. The Jeep goes under the Knife on Monday Dec 6th and the body shop is going to use all 2008 parts for everything they repair, i just needed to buy the headlights. I cant wait for it all to be done. I will post pics in my new thread in the Visual Mods section.

I found one on Ebay for $120 shipped! and i almost bought it but the shop is going to use Genuine Jeep parts for the repairs. I would rather have that then the after market stuff that may not fit perfectly. But if money got tight on getting the repairs done then i will buy the ebay bumper cover and they will work with it.
