Wiring to parking lights under dashboard?

I am getting ready to install some aftermarket fog lamps and one of the connections from the switch that is mounted in the dash requires a connection to the positive parking lights wire located under the dashboard somewhere. Does anyone know where this wire can be found and what color is it. Thanks.

Re: Wiring to parking lights under dashboard?

IMO I would just tap into the parking light by the headlight.

the headlight harnessis small cheap seperate harness and could very easily be replaced if anything neds to be in the future.

Re: Wiring to parking lights under dashboard?

I was originally going to tap in to the parking light wire near to the headlights but the length of the wire provided was to short to run from the switch through the firewall and to the front of the vehicle and i did not want to add another connection to avoid problems down the road. But thinking about it and with your advise would probably be the best option. I will hit RadioShack in the morning, Thanks.

Re: Wiring to parking lights under dashboard?

Just solder and heatshrink the connection and you wont have any issues, no use in cutting corners on one step just to save time on another.
