But it seems your leak is on the wrong side to be the cooler lines. Mine dripped from the engine skid plate on the opposite side. I would get a drip or two on the garage floor every couple of days during the winter, but now that the warmer weather is here, mine has stopped. I bough new lines, but haven't installed them yet; the dealer wants two hours to replace them.

Re: [WK 5,7 06] - drips ?

Looks like oil from the little drain pan under the oil filter. Maybe it's not tight enough?

Re: [WK 5,7 06] - drips ?

Couple of ideas where it could be coming from.

Trans cooler lines - wrong side as mentioned before.
Power steering line/Hydraulic fan line
Oil pressure sensor
Could just be drips from the oil filter

I have fixed all the above myself and the only ones that are a PIA are the trans cooler lines. If they leak again I'm getting some custom lines made.

Take off the plastic skid guard and take some pics of where it is coming from.

Re: [WK 5,7 06] - drips ?

As others have mentioned, it looks to be on the wrong side for the trans cooler lines (I'm on my third set now...)

I also think it unlikely to be from the oil filter (as that is on the same side as the tranny lines).

It looks (IMO) to be the steering rack or lines, but checking the colour of the fluid should help. You will get a much better view if you remove the skid plate. Also dropping the plate may also give you a better idea as to how badly it is leaking.

Have you checked fluid levels? Anything low?
