I replaced all my pads at 45K and my rotors are getting replaced this month with new pads at 70K ... the WK brakes are chitty

My friend has a mechanic shop and stated that most jeeps that come through his shop have brake problems ... either the pads are worn too quick or the rotors have to be replaced ...

I blame it on the bean counters lol

But I've noticed on a coworkers 08 Durango, and 07 Honda Ridgeline his calipers are located on the outter sides of the wheel like this....

Could this be the reason for my rear wheel getting more brake dust than the front? All my prior vehicles the front wheel would get more brake dust than the rear. I'm no engineer but I would think with the placement of the caliper on the WK like this it would shift more braking power to the rear wheel. I don't know about the SRT guys but just something that crossed my mind....

Discuss....
Nate, I believe that the placement of the rotors (as you show in the pics) has to do with fitment issues.
I asked the same question once about the Dodge Magnum why the calipers where in different position from the 2WD model to the AWD model and I was told it has to do with the different axles and fitment issues. I'm not saying that that's the correct answer but it made a lot of sense to me. For stopping power I don't think it makes any difference whether they are in the front or behind the wheel as you show on the pics.
