Re: WK Headlights - Rob's version

Excellent write up Rob,

All in all this wasn't really all that bad I went with 235* for 15 minutes. I had to do a total reheat about 4 times per light.

Head lights are apart and the pieces are at the shop getting color matched Brillant Black Crystal Pearl (PXR).

Now for the questions:

Where do I get this Nightshade spray tint at? How many coats, and any tricks to it?

Where do I get and what is the name/number of the chrome turn signal bulbs that blink amber like Scott has?

I'm going to pull the pin in the harness so they only blink, they will not light up for the parking lights as that will be the job of the halo's

Thanks for your help,
Escape

P.S. 2 days left till the Jeep is home

Re: WK Headlights - Rob's version

You can get Nightshade at Advanced Auto Parts. That's where I got mine for my front turn signals.

Re: WK Headlights - Rob's version

Ok we are back to updates about this mod.

The LED Halos are here. Im going with a green set. So the first order of business is to make the lights blend in with the housings, which are mineral grey, IIRC

So I got some 1/8 in pinstriping tape to protect the LEDs from the paint.

so this is the LEDs in white just to give you an idea, you know me, it'll be weeks before Im ready for the complete install

this is what I need to make blend in

here is the pic with the light taped

and then painted mineral grey. i used a touch of ahesion promoter first. i think i am going to skip the clear!

thats it for now. hoping to have it all painted by the weekend.

I still need to get to the fogs. anyone have a band saw I can borrow
