WK transmission temp PID

Hi,

Does anyone knows the PID for transmission oil temperature? How do you guys check your oil level?
It's seems very hard to find the list of chrysler specific PID's.

Thanks

Re: WK transmission temp PID

I use a DashHawk, but the PID is not accurate for my 545RFE trans. It reads about 100 degrees high all the time, so I don't normally use it, except for reference if I suspect something isn't right.

Re: WK transmission temp PID

It is wrong it is about 150 degree off I too thought 300 degrees trans temp took it to the shop and it read 150. The shop said if was reading over 300 I would f up the transmission. The dashhawk is wrong

Re: WK transmission temp PID

Chris, yes, I was just guessing, based on the temp. that my Hemi LX NAG1 tranny runs at. It seldom gets above 170 degrees. With the DashHawk on the WK it normally runs 250-300 degrees. Don't recall if I've ever seen it above 300 though. In any case, it's pretty useless and, of course, there is no more support for it. Sure wish they'd start making the DashHawk again. Most of the new ones don't do as much and cost $100-200 more.

Re: WK transmission temp PID

Does anyone know a forum where i could ask for chrysler's PIDs?
It's a shame we are obliged to buy such a fancy device for only reading a GB temperature.
Probably I'm going to process my own measurement with a TCK or a PT100 via the dipstick tube. Does someone knows where the temperature measurement is located?

Re: WK transmission temp PID

I check mine through the tube with a K probe/volt meter setup attached to the dipstick. Seems to work fine for what it is and what I'm trying to accomplish. Makes it pretty easy to change the fluid when needed. My nag1 temps when fully warmed up are pretty consistent @ 160.
