Before I get into details I will say I'm not a Jeep newbie. I have had several jeeps from WK SRT8, to WK Limited, to a WJ Overland, and even a WK2 Overland. All were reliable vehicles that I enjoyed. The last few months I have been driving my sisters 05 Laredo as she bought a new car and I told her I would clean it up, work on a few things, and sell it for her for waayy more than she could have ever got for trade in.
So I did just that, and I think I'm gonna miss driving the Jeep. My other vehicle is a 07 6spd manual Acura TL Type S with only 14k miles. It's in the rarest color combo and with the mileage and manual tranny, it's literally the only one like it in the country. So even though it's no exotic and just a fwd Honda more or less, it's still my baby and I prefer to park it during the winter. The manual tranny and summer tires make it poor in those conditions anyway.
So I'm looking around and want an 08-10 preferably V8 Limited or Laredo. Since its a second vehicle I'm looking to spend the least amount possible as my wife already thinks I'm a nut job. I want to keep it below 12k. Because of that price I understand that I'm pretty limited to mostly Laredos which is fine, but being a car guy I also really appreciate the higher end models and features. I found a clean looking 2010 Limited Hemi that's local with 161k miles. Nice carfax with only one owner and no reported accidents. That's a TON of miles that I would normally stay far away from, but since I have a record of not keeping cars all that long might not be an issue. With those miles I can only imagine it's gotta be all highway. Looks like it could be had for 11k where as lower mileage 2010 Limiteds are closer to 20 or even higher. If properly maintained are the 4x4 Hemi WK's solid vehicles with tons of miles or would you guys just keep looking for more basic models with lower miles? I'm not a huge fan of the V6's power, but it's doable. I'm also looking at a 100k mile 04 Overland, and a 07 Laredo V6 with 80k, both one owner no accidents.
