This muffler shouldn't bother you at all.. leave the resonator on. But I do think IMO that you should have an intake to compliment it... air in/air out....

Thanks for the link, we dindt have resonators on the 05' 4.7's though, will it make much difference?

Re: Wrong Magnaflow

Oh and one more thing, will it be a big difference over stock? Even though I dont want it to be heard 5 blocks away I do want some rumble when I get on it. =D

You could hear it blocks away. I think I lost my hearing from pushing it out of the snow in the winters though. It reminded me of the scene in "The Last American Hero" during the opening credits when he's driving his fastback through the woods and you can hear it way off in the distance. God I love American v8's. I'd go louder on my Jeep but with a 4.7 gen 1 I dont want to be one of those guys who's barks worse than their bite.

Re: Wrong Magnaflow

I would recommend the 5x11x18" muffler if you want constant noise but not too much. The 22" is noise when you want it, quiet when you don't.

Re: Wrong Magnaflow

If someone is just looking to make the exhaust sound better/louder why not just get a straight thru muffler, cut the existing muffler off, and install the new muffler with a straight pipe extension and clamp everything together. Can be done in the driveway for under $100 and an hour or two of work.

Dont you usually get leaks and stuff without welding a muffler on? I have a Mig setup but im not good enough to do a muffler and right now all I have if flux core.

Welded is always better, but clamps will do the job just fine. Air travels with the least resistance, so unless you have major blockage in the exhaust system there should be no noticable leakage. The jerk off who just put my srt exhaust set-up on used clamps before and after the Y pipe and I was under there the other day to check it out and there's no exhaust leakage or anything, its fine. But just doesnt look professional and now i have to take it somewhere else to have it welded, but im anal and want it perfect. On my previous 94 GC I must of had 10 clamps thru out the exhaust from replacing rusted out pieces. Thats what happens when you dont go with stainless steel.

Cool, so you dont think its worth it to go for a whole catback? Just the muffler would give me the same sound and performance?
