Re: Xenon Depot HID kit

I've got a 2008 Limited with everything stock. I'm looking for some simple upgrades to start with. I have heard XenonDepot is good, but to be honest...I have no idea what I would be buying. I want Xenon high and low beams (obviously) and I guess fogs to match. Any insight would be great. Would I need to replace just bulbs? or other stuff? Please let me know! Thanks in advance!

Re: Xenon Depot HID kit

you dont put HIDs in the High Beams typically.
they take a bit to heat up and its not recommended. and no one does it.

anyway, you can do lows and fogs. you will be replacing the bulbs but you also need to configure some ballasts and do the wiring. its all supplied in XD xtreme kit or the wiring can be added to the cheaper one. use a relay harness for each bulb and ballast. so you will have 4 of them.

So would any of these work?

Which brightness are yours? And where would I find the fogs?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Xenon Depot HID kit

the lows are 9006 and the fog bulbs are h10. KBcarstuff has many color temps starting at 4300K(white) You just have to decide what color you want them to be. The higher kelvin you go....the bluer/purple you get.

Re: Xenon Depot HID kit

Looks like you've got some good information already :-)

As per your questions:

1) Your vehicle uses a 9006 bulb for the low beams and and an H10 bulb for the fog lights meaning that you would need order a 9006 HID kit to upgrade the lows and an H10 kit.

2) Color Temperature: When it comes to HID kit color temperature, the higher you go in terms of color temperature the more color you get however the less actual useable light output.

3) High beam HID: I personally do not suggest upgrading the high beams for the exact reason stated above. Also, I believe the Cherokee uses the high beam bulb for the DRL and DRL usually operate on a reduced current and HIDs cannot operate on a reduced voltage.
