Two relays for the low beams

Its the best and proper way to run your HIDs.

I have each headlight running in independent series. One relay and one fuse per headlight.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

New to JG, I have a 05 WK and I bought 2 sets of bixenon HID with Halo kits to go into the light. I am having a hellova time trying to get the high beam and low beam to coordinate. I wired the harness into the existing 9005/9006 harness and both the projectors turn on when its on low beam, but when I put high beams on they open the cut-off so to make two high beam lights per headlamp. My question is... Is there a way to wire the lights so that I can have two projectors in each housing, one that works with low and daytime, and one that turns on only for high beam?

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

I just called XenonDepot and they said that the extra relay in the harness is only a back up. Lol. So what are you guys talking about??

It's still good to have though.

You do realize, if you have one harness, your headlights go out COMPLETELY if the harness decides to pooch on you.

therefore its a BACKUP because its safety for you and others when it decides it wants to break on the highway.

For your safety and for the oncoming traffic.

So yes, it is PROPER to have two of these installed. Why 'half ass" do things? There is a REASON why Xenondepot sends you two harnesses.

You do realize I said "It's still good to have though." in my previous post. I was agreeing with you all. Calm down Charlie Brown. Take a bump or something.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

That's cool. It make sense to have one for each lamp. Therefore, you use both OEM harness instead of just one.

I was concerned about where he mounted the relays but then I saw on the site that they have been waterproofed.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

Would it be worth it to get the Xtreme XenonDepot kit rather than the Volt XenonDepot kit?

I know the only difference is warranty and the "German" chip inside the ballast.

Depends what you want to spend.

I went with the Xtreme kit, it comes with two free harnesses. I can actually state that this kit is the best HID kit I have ever bought.

I was going to buy a volt for my fogs, however I decided to go the xtreme route as well.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

I was just wondering because we can get the Volt XenonDepot kit for under $100 with the JeepGarage discount.

I've had a generic HID kit with the old magnetic ballast on my WK for the past 4 years and they are just as bright as they were when I first installed them. I might go with the Volt kit.

The Volt kit will work great on your WK. Remember to get the relays. I believe there is a code where you get free relays. Talk to Steve or Mike about it. I remember hearing about them giving you relays on the Volt kit using a code.
