Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

Yeah. Obtained to the guy and he said I get the relays for free and a discount on the kit. I believe I'd end up paying $70 to $90

The relays in the picture of this thread don't look like the have been insulated to be water proof. Are they? I know they are on the site.

Sorry for the delay. I installed them on the inside of the drip edge on the fender. The way I figured, the battery and air box stay fairly dry and have never really had excessive amounts of water on them, so it seemed like a logical and clean location to install. The relays themselves looked waterproof as well. Correct me if I am wrong, I am open to new ideas.

And yes I used the code and received two relays and a discount. I think I paid $114, which to this date I am still impressed with the quality for the money. My wife is already asking for a set!

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

You have a good point about the battery staying dry during rain. And XenonDepot is suppose to "waterproof" the relays because they are not waterproof alone.

Did you use existing bolts to mount the relays?

Use the existing bolts. A lot of people have had troubles when they mounted them in different spots. I'm one of those people.

Not EVERYONE has issues, but it seems the BEST spot is to put them on the factory ground.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

I drilled new holes and siliconed the end on the outside. So far I have been lucky and had no issues.

Whats up Ray

The setup is pretty easy. The only tools I used were: Drill, drill bit, phillips head screw driver, and a basic socket set. I bought the 6000K Volt kit and am very happy with the performance. I kept my fog lights stock.

What part of Mass are you in? If you are near the south shore, I wouldn't mind helping you out with the install if you need it.

Re: XenonDepot HID install and question

Sounds pretty easy. I am from Western Ma, so we are a bit of a ways away from each other. Good to know there is another guy from Ma on here. Go Sox!
