Re: 07 SRT8 Audio Upgrade

I have done a few cars with soundstream amps and never heard a bad thing. I think it is when people dont know what they are doing and try to wire speakers/amps certain ways and then they blow them. Its all about ohmage and wiring. If you get it right no matter what you have usually will sound good and give you good bass. IMO

I cant wait to start the fiberglassing and mounting of the amp. Im might go a little crazy with this box but its ok the Jeep deserves a really nice box. You should feel how heavy these 8'' DDs are. The magnet is just as big as the top! There is no play once so ever in the movement of the speaker cone either. I have to break these things in for about 10-20 hours or so also.

The only thing I am not sure of is how i am going to incorperate LEDs into the box. Have a few things in mind but not sure if I want to do it. May keep it clean and simple...

Re: 07 SRT8 Audio Upgrade

Here are the boxes I made over the weekend. They are to spec for air space required by the manufacture. They called for 1 cubic foot of air space each, so i built 2 seperate boxes. They came out really good. Now I need to put them together and fiberglass them. This is gonna be the fun part

Re: 07 SRT8 Audio Upgrade

off to a good start. its funny to see some small enclosures like that, but i have heard some 8's that sounded like 12's in the right enclosure.

Re: 07 SRT8 Audio Upgrade

Yea they are pretty small but are only for 8'' subs requiring 1 cubic feet of air space. The total dimension of my box will be 44 wide 10 tall and 14 deep and will fit perfectly behind my seat. I am going to start the fiberglassing and figuring how i will mount my amp later this week. I will keep taking pics to show progress.

On another note my jeep has been totally sanded and the rust on the top door jams(damn jeep) has been fixed. Its getting painted today then wet sanded and buffed tomorrow

Nice Choice of Subs I just picked up a 12 myself. I'll be doing a FG/Carbon Fiber enclosure for mine. I'll post up when I start to show my progress soon.

This is a stock photo of my 9500 I'll post up some pics when it gets here too.
I got the carbon Dust cap and Carbon Cone Option and also added the supercharged to it LOL don't even know what it is something to do with coil travel and air. It was only another 70 bucks so I just told them to do it since I can't supercharge the truck at least I'll still have a supercharged something.

I have a JL 1000.1 but I'm dumping it for something better and more powerful like a DD M1B amp or may be a Zapco still unsure.
I'm also doing the head unit and all components.

On your sound deading material we have used that all the time in Florida and believe it or not it works great you can really tell the difference.
Here is a few pics of the fiberglass work I did in Florida. This car was covered in the roofing material. This car actually had a massive system before this build and did it vibrate. After the material and a much larger build out the difference was defiantly noticeable.

Re: 07 SRT8 Audio Upgrade

WOW Chad that is a big ass speaker! Well so is mine for a 8" sub lol

I would love to have that JL Audio Amp...Is it for sale??? Oh wait actually that JL amp wont work because it is not stable at 1 ohm and that is how I am wiring my speakers....

I am the same guy that just talked to you on the phone about the Hemi Orange CF stuff. I really hope we can do it cause I was planning on painting my box with Orange highlights and the base being Silver like my Jeep. I think the Orange that I am doing to my Jeep is gonna look awesome! Cant wait till its done.

Here are some pics of the box coming along. I made 2 seperate boxes and then used liquid nail to put them together. Today i am going to start my fiberglassing and my cone structure for the subs
