Re: '09 WK Pioneer AVIC-x910BT Install Help

What color is the VSS wire? If it's purple, I didn't connect it. It's actually sitting three feet from me on the desk.

Also, just ground the parking brake wire. With it grounded, you don't need to have the parking brake applied to enter a destination, watch movies, etc.

I can't remember what color the VSS wire is. It will give you more accurate navigation with it connected though.

For the avic there are 2 ways to bypass, and the parking wire ground isn't one of them.

You can either edit the data.zip file, or you can move the mute pin one over and ground it. That will bypass it. You can get more info on avic411.com/forum

I believe so. I have used both and not had a problem with either.

Re: '09 WK Pioneer AVIC-x910BT Install Help

It just occurred to me that there is a wire for each wheel sensor in the Pin Outs...can I use any one of those for the VSS???

Re: '09 WK Pioneer AVIC-x910BT Install Help

A heads up to anyone else installing the AVIC units...the '09 WK has a different plug type on the input of the OE radio, so the XSVI-6502-NAV or SWI will not work...I have a call into Metra & Axxess to see if they have something that is compatible. I'll post up the correct numbers when I get them...

I just got a new METRA book, and now it says it's the 6522. Sorry about that.

Re: '09 WK Pioneer AVIC-x910BT Install Help

Finally finished this radio install and thought I would let everyone know that the '09 WK definitely takes the XSVI-6522-NAV because of the plugs..also, since my Larado has the cheap, RES factory radio, it is not quite 2-DIN in size which means you have to cut out part of the plastic housing to make the AVIC fit...it does not just fit into the factory cutout...that was the only hidden problem that no one warned me about..thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions though..
