Question 2013 JGC Overland Summit - Android radio replacement

I'm about to get a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit with the factory nav and premium sounds system. I was hoping to replace the head unit with an Android head unit. I have been reading about these radios on various jeep forums, reddit, and xda for almost 2 years. So I know that there are pros and cons with the Android units, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

My question is more about the sub dash of the JGC.

That style (2011 to 2013) has a unique radio size. Almost all of the Android units are for a different model of Jeep. The only site I see that has an exact fit is the Seicane model S09263:

Seicane S09263 Aftermarket Android 4.4 Car Stereo Navigation for 2011 2012 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with CANBUS OBD2 Bluetooth Radio GPS HD 1024*600 Touch Screen Steering Wheel Control DVR Rearview Camera TV Video USB SD WIFI Quad-core CPU Mirror lin

I would prefer a Universal unit like this one from Joying:

https://www.carjoying.com/android-5-...mera-dvr-.html

However I watched this YouTube video of a 2011 install:

Looking at that, it seems like only a special size unit will fit. For example the Seicane model that is meant for those years of JGC has measurements of 139mm deep, 178mm wide, and 78mm tall

The Joying shows as 143mm deep, 178mm wide, and 100mm tall

Anyone know of the measurements of the hole behind the stock radio of the 2011 to 2013 JGC? Can a regular double din fit without modification?

Re: 2013 JGC Overland Summit - Android radio replacement

I should update this...

I got a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit and it was gorgeous:

It only had 25k miles, seemed perfect. However within my 5 day return period the engine started knocking. Then smoking. Then leaking transmission fluid and smoking and knocking.

So I took it back. Started looking at others, but once bitten twice shy sunk in..

So I bought a brand new 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Freedom Edition:

So far I love it and I feel good about my decision. The radio is similar, but still different:

So I had to start my search for an android head unit all over. To further complicate matters, I got the base audio system, but I have upgraded it with a Mopar Kicker subwoofer and amp combo. And I don't know that amp will work with an Android unit. Bother Kicker and Crutchfield say it won't work with an aftermarket, but I might still try it.
