My friend has a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Stock Infinity System in it. I need some help with the audio. We have some experience, but I want some information on good reliable speakers that put out a nice amount of power. I have been researching for him, butI'd like to get some opinions out there one what you peeps prefer. I know we havea lot of smart people out here that know about audio.

What we are replacing is:
-Front Two Tweeters
-Front Two Door Speakers
-Rear Two Door Speakers

I would like some help on what brands that you prefer. My friend want's some bas, but without a subwoofer since it gives him a headache and he's grown out of it too.

I don't like Alpine or Polk.

I like Infinity Kappas, and Kickers. Remember we are only doing speakers in his Jeep.

I'm on CrutchField and I have been looking on other forums also. I really like RockFord Fosgates Speakers.

Was looking at JL Audio C2-525X Speakers all around and then some nice tweeters. What do you think?

He wants something crisp and that has a nice amount of Bass like the Factory Kicker Speakers from the SRT8.

I really appreciate it!

You won't be disappointed with the JL Audio set up. I have the C5 tweeters in my WJ and love them. Good luck with the build!

I'm using the JL Audio HD900/5 which puts out 100 watts RMS per channel to the speakers and then 500 watts RMS to my sub. Its an awesome amp because its very small and makes a lot of power. I have it mounted where the factory infiniti amp was located. If you are looking for an amp just for the speakers and you were wanting a JL amp maybe take a look at the 300/4v2 or the XD400/4. I've seen the XD in person and it is also a fairly small amp. I think the HD600/4 may be slightly to much power for the C2's. The 300/4v2 comes from an excellent line of amps as well. I don't have much experience with that amp though. I can try to take a picture tomorrow of my amp placement if that could help.

You may also want to check out http://www.wjjeeps.com/jlaudio.htm on some ideas/help with the wj install and then http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps_pages.php?page_id=10 for the JL Audio amps.

I kept the stock head unit and added on the pac ipod integration kit. I'm not sure about a special harness though. Although I'm mechanically inclined when it comes to installing anything electrical I have the professionals do it.

The bass on my system hovers around really loud to overkill when I have the subwoofer control knob turned all the way up but always stays crisp and clean. I've only heard the C2's in the demo room at the my local audiovideo store and they sounded awesome. The bass sounded tight and clean on the component speakers. My girlfriend is having a set of the 6.5" components and 6x9's installed on wednesday so if you can wait a little while I can give you a first hand review of the C2's. I have the JL Audio XR's installed in my WJ and they also sound phenomenal. Occasionally you can still find them at your local audio store and possibly on JL's website. I can't really comment on the bass output of these speakers because of the way I have my crossover set up I have almost all the bass sent to the subwoofer but the mid's and high's are to die for. If you are able to find these speakers they are usually significantly cheaper than the original price for them. Also I wouldn't recommended using the XR's without an amplifier or you will probably be left unimpressed, but once you feed them the correct amount of power they'll shine.

Another place you may look into for some more information on the C2's is this thread.

I know Brunality just installed these into his WK.
