Best HID Kit

Where or what brand is the best for a simple HID Headlight (low beam only) conversion?

I am looking for something of quality, reliable and that wont screw up my WK.

Also what is the best candle power and wattage? I dont want any queer colors, just bright lights for back country roads.

Re: Best HID Kit

one thing. HID ballasts dont like on/offs like a regular light. plus they take a few seconds to warm up. so every time you flash counts as a cycle even if they dont light up. IMO they wont last long as a high beam so get a good one with a warranty. like Xenon Depot.

Re: Best HID Kit

If you ask me, Ill recommend a kit from DDM tuning. Im running them for my lows and fogs and i love it. Its affordable ( IIRC $$40?) and comes with a lifetime warranty. They also offer a 55w kit if you really need the extra output in the country roads as well as a 35w kit. Because of the extra watts it tends to wash out the color so get a temp higher than what you want. Ex. 6k would like a 5k kit, 8k will look like a 6k kit.

Re: Best HID Kit

I think Kyle is "gearing" up after the Libby flip? I love my volt kits from XD. And DDM has a special IIRC...main thing, just make sure you are not flashing with them as they need to warn up...HID's would be perfect for 10+ miles open stretches of nothing

Ok, i have them bookmarked, but i was cautious because it was so cheap and i was not sure if that was because they are cheap quality.

Re: Best HID Kit

I cant really say how much more light output the 55w have over the 35w(but its freakin bright!), i just took their word (it was +$5 more for the 55w so what the heck).Without the projectors its going to cause some/a bit of glare (35w or 55w)even if you aim them down.

Re: Best HID Kit

Ok, maybe then i will do a 35W 6000k light, i am not sure. If you think that the DDM tuning kit is worth it and not junk then i will give them a try. Was it an easy install?

Re: Best HID Kit

have mine for almost 2 years and no problems. simple install, make sure to get the relays for the lows and fogs ( not sure for the 05 fogs, but the 08+ it was a hit or miss without the relay)
