Boston Upgrade

I swapped the "Boston" dash speakers with Boston 2-ways. Easy swap, and brightened up the sound nicely.

Re: Boston Upgrade

no bass signals go to the dash with the oem setup, only high + mid, the woofer is in the front doors, so your choice may be overkill, but I am no expert here.

Re: Boston Upgrade

I just put those in myself and i am probably going to go back with the factory fronts. the new ones are very muddled at higher volume. wonder if i put in the kicker amp if it would help?

were you able to find some harness to join the factory wiring or did you cut/splice them in?

Re: Boston Upgrade

My best audio upgrade was putting Damplifier on the doors, inside and out. On the inner skin I sealed up all the holes to give the speakers a "sealed" enclosure. The bass sounds so much better, I love my BA setup now. I thought it was plenty bright, in fact too bright, from the factory.

Re: Boston Upgrade

JDub I also recently did a small project with some b-quiet. I only had 12 sq ft. 6 each side but I found I used most on the inside of the outer door. when i get some more i want to fill all holes with some masonite or??? and make the enclosure like you say.

Re: Boston Upgrade

You'll love the results. I know some guys fill the holes with pieces of plexiglass, adhered with silicone or liquid nails. Plexi is nice bc it's cheap, solid and weatherproof. Water/moisture does get in the doors so the masonite may not hold up as well over time.

Re: Boston Upgrade

These sound like great ideas, anyone have any photos of installing the dampener?
