well i hope they will be able to keep up with some help from the 6x9's and 6.5's. LOL and the Pierce audio brother's built me a pair of custom made WMD 12" shallow mount subs just for my false floor install. they are the most evil shallow mount subs i have ever seen. tell me if yall think the same. this is a pic of them next to my shallow mount MB quart's. they are only 4" deep.

here is the link to the acutal build of these subs
http://pierceaudioproducts.com/forum...pic,579.0.html

i love these guys just for the level of service they provide and if you need a one-off sub, they will build one for you. what other company will do that for there customers?

and here is the amps i will be using.
butler audio tube driver 475. 4 x 75 Watts @ 4 ohm's

MMATS DHC1400.05. 1400 watts at .5 ohm at 13 volts

and my backup high amplifier. MMATS SQ4070, 70 watts @ 4 ohm's. still not sure if i should use this instead of the tube driver. I love the sound of tube amps, but i also love MMATS amplifiers, so any thoughts on this? lets make it a poll. what everyones thoughts on this? butler or mmats?

Re: Butch's 2010 install

if it were me, Id match up the 2 mmats amps.....only because I like visual cleanness!

so, are you building a shallow mount box into the storage cargo space??

I have to see that!!

the visual aspect is the only reason I am considering the mmats over the butler, but I don't know yet if I will display them in the back or hide them under the rear seats. so that will probably be the deciding factor. and yea I will be using the cargo space to make a false floor box, something like this, but hopefully I can make it look more like a factory floor than this one does

Those dolls are my mother in laws porcelain doll crap. I really don't know why they were there. LOL
but as for the MB quart's they sounded really good but the only problem I had with them was there was a lack of very low bass in them. but that is one of the draw backs with shallow mount subs. That is why I asked the pierce boys to make a pair of shallow mount subs that would hit the low notes like a sub should. and they came through with flying colors.

Re: Butch's 2010 install

WOW! This thread really got me going! I was also thinking about doing an upgrade to my audio system.
I have a 07 Jeep SRT8.

Now my question is......BA=Boston Acustic?
I have the premium system in my Jeep SRT8 with the DVD player and all. What will i compromise upgrading my dash, front door and rear door speakers?

Also how do i get a signal from my stock radio to a low pass amp for bass? Is there additional RCA outputs on the factory head unit to support a amp?

This will help me alot decide what i am going to do.

Thanks!!!

BA = Boston Acoustic

I just upgraded my dash speakers (thanks Butch!) and it was a HUGE improvement over stock. I have a 15" sub w/ 1000watt amp and I needed some more highs. I bought a PAC adapter for my RCA outputs...it keeps ALL stock functioning and gives you a front and rear RCA output...install took a little over 8 hours, and I could do that in 4 now that I have taken her apart...I really took my time taking the floor and trim pieces apart...hope that helps

Re: Butch's 2010 install

Thanks for that post. i was starting to type up pretty much your exact answer. lol anyway you will notice a huge improvement by changing out the stock speakers. its one of the easiest upgrades you can do if you want to keep everything stock (headunit and amps) that is.
and yea those 12 hit like some beast. i really miss having tunes in my jeep.

I hear ya on that... I havent had a single note play in my Jeep since late November... and Im in the military and drive 7 hours to get home when I go on leave. They were some AWFULLY quiet trips. Normally they feel like 2 hour drives... they turn into what feels like 12+ hours with no tunes. Yea I have Pandora on my cell phone but that doesnt cut it especially since im a smoker and rolling down the window totally takes away what small sound a phone can do.
