Dashcam Install, need guidance.

OK, So I got a Mobius 2 camera I'd like to install on the bottom, or better yet, inside this... thing under my rear view mirror.
I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee. It has a dimming mirror and the OnStar button (which I don't use) and that's as far as I know.

First question, what's inside and will I have room to hide this camera inside?
Second, is there 12v inside that I can tap into?
Second pic is the camera itself.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dashcam Install, need guidance.

Can't remember how much room is in there (I doubt there is enough space for your camera), but it's not difficult to remove. You will not have to remove the mirror. Just pinch the sides of the cover, pulling downwards and wiggle it loose.

We hard wired our radar detector by accessing the wires inside that trim cover, so you definitely can get power to the dashcam from there.

That was question 3. How to get it off.
Lack of screws gave me pause.
Thanks for the info!

Inside are rain sensor and auto high beam camera.

You might have enough room for the camera if you don't have the auto high beam option installed.

There is switched 12v that you can tap into right in the mirror connections. Pink/yellow + and Black - (or blk/brn as I remember, it's the pin right next to the +).

You could install the camera to the bottom...will probably require some finesse and thinking out side the box with back strap and screws...or epoxy...

Meh, keep it simple and attach it with 3M VHB and velcro

I'm not a big fan of Velcro...it ends up way too bulky. If I really wanted to get that camera in there for myself though, I would spend some time cutting and trimming the bottom of that cover just right to fit the camera with maybe like half of it sticking out from the bottom and just hotglue the #%*^$# in. Make it look like it belonged there in the first place
