Re: Does the WK use a flasher relay?

HATE to bump this thread....BUTTTTTT. im wrapping up my retro again and my installer recommended to use a combo relay to stop the hyperflash. i see here that there was none in 2010...being its half way through 2011 i was wondering if anything had arisen and can be used by simply swapping out a fuse?

dont want to use resistors if i dont need to.

Re: Does the WK use a flasher relay?

resistor or bust......from what I know if you want a LED bulb. lots o talk but no one has made anything. reason is the amount of resistance needed makes a TON OF HEAT.

when i bought aftermarket headlights they came with harnesses. so those are the ones I cut and soldered into and saved the OEM ones for later/

Re: Does the WK use a flasher relay?

yeah thats what i was afraid of. oh well. iirc, we need a 3ohm resistor correct? i have led tails and they flash fine so idk if i need a resistor even...can you chime in on that?

this is what i plan on ordering after oyu verify i need a 3ohm instead of 6ohm...

Re: Does the WK use a flasher relay?

the front ON MY 2007 WK is 3 ohm BUT some of the later MY need 1.5 ohm.

I would get 2- 3ohm and let him hook them up. if it dont work tell him to try 2 - 3 ohm in series on one side ( + 1.5 ohm ). the best i can suggest.

as far as LED tails I suspect they put small resistance on every led or 3 led I never took one apart. those also fail one bulb at a time and I would suspect HEAT causing it but that is really a guess.

Re: Does the WK use a flasher relay?

yea i believe when u buy LED tail lights they would come with resitors in them
i had LED tails for my 300 and they worked great

but i put LEDs into my jeep and had to install load resistors so they wouldnt hyper flash
