Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

Yup, my luck. No where to be found. I checked ebay and the guy only has one left. I've been checking all morning and I get sent to the same company distributor. Either Vishay/Dale or Ohmite are the makers and there is like a 7 week wait period for these things. WTF!! PLUS, they want a minimum order of 25 at $8 a pop meaning I'd have to spend damn near $200 to get 2 resistors. Lol. Guess I gotta wait. I don't know where else to look. Not many places carry these with the aluminum casing. You lucky S.O.B. Lol. J/K

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

I did some quick searching during my lunch break on digikey and mouser but couldn't find anything suitable. My advice would be to ask LipschitzWrath he might know of a place to get some.

Thats exactly where I've been looking. Seems to be the only 2 that carry them but they don't have them in stock. 7-8 week wait. Every other little site redirects to them.

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

If anyone finds these resistors, PLEASE let me know. I have been looking all morning and always wind back up at Mouser or DigiKey. 1.2 Ohm 50 Watt aluminum housed resistors. Not sure of the tolerance percent but the onlt thing that comes up is 1% or 5%. I dont even know what it means, Lol.

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

Great news Timmy!
Now all we need is to find a source to get the damn resistors.
Hey, how about the guys at V-Leds? Can they get this resistors before us?
Somebody should let them know about this find, this way they will offer the correct resistor on future orders.
Thanks Timmy!

The tolerance is the % +/- of the given resistance value.

ie. if the resistor is 100 ohms with a tolerance of 1%, your part will have an actual resistance of 99-101 ohms. The lower the tolerance the more expensive the resistor.

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

I know, I did get lucky finding those on ebay. I saw he had a bunch of used resistors all different ohm,s so I bought two lots of 5 but he sent 7 in each package, I have a few 3,7, and 200 ohm 50 watt resistors and two 4ohm 25 watt resistors. I just triple checked and I only have the two 1.2ohm ones I have installed right now.

Last week someone on here PM'd me saying he is good with electrical and asked if he could help, I told him I planned on trying different resistors. I'll send him a PM to see if he knows where to get anymore or if he can think of something else to do, like maybe hooking up two common found resistors to get a 1.2ohm load somehow.

And im really surprised V-Leds didnt know about this as its what they do and sell LEDs and resistors and im sure they have had people write about problems like this before. But now im wondering why I need a 1.2ohm when other WK owners just need the 3ohm?

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

If they only sell in lots of 25 then maybe can setup a group buy on here. Id take two more just to have for extra's.

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

This place says they will make any resistor you want.

Here's there metal cased resistors.

Re: Dual LED Blinker-Solved the Problem!!!!

So two 3 ohm 25 watt resistors wired in parallel will give you a 1.5 ohm 50 watt load. That should work.
