Fixed my torn subwoofer with Gorilla Glue..

I wanted to share the results I got after trying to repair my subwoofer. I have a JL Audio 10W6v2 and I ended up tearing the foam surround about half ways around it. I searched online for repairs and came up with nothing, and JL wanted alot of money to fix it. I went to Home Depot and got a small bottle of Gorilla Glue, spread it on both sides of the torn surround let it set-up about a day. I did this about 2 weeks ago and the glue is holding up great and the sub sounds like new again. It does not look pretty, and I prob wont be able to resell the sub later on, but it seemed to work and the grill hides the glue from showing. Thumbs up for Gorilla Glue.......

Re: Fixed my torn subwoofer with Gorilla Glue..

Haha, you really want a picture of an ugly mess of yellow glue all around a black subwoofer surround?? OK, I'll go snap one right now. Hold on. BRB

Re: Fixed my torn subwoofer with Gorilla Glue..

I was thinking to take a razor blade to the excess glue, shave it decent, then just paint it black or a grey-ish color. But the grill hides alot of the ugly mess. Im just happy I was able to find a product that worked to fix it. That sub costs alot of $$$.
