Garmin ecoRoute HD with Jeep Liberty mygig nav system

Hi all!

I have a Jeep Liberty 2011 with a Mygig RHB radio/Sat/Garmin Nav.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a Garmin ecoRoute HD unit to send engine info to this particular Garmin GPS (the ecoRoute is a unit that plugs into the Jeep's computer port and sends diagnostic info via bluetooth to a Garmin GPS)?

Garmin seems unsure about whether or not it will pair and work as they seem to not have a lot of knowledge about the factory installed mygig radios with their GPS system inside.

Being the mygig has Bluetooth (for the hands-free functions), can I assume the GPS can also take advantage of the Bluetooth and appear to the ecoRoute as a Nuvi-type unit?

The more I think about it as I write this the more I'm thinking that the bluetooth is probably not "attached" to the GPS system, but is instead just for the hands-free functions of the mygig itself, but hopefully I'm wrong...

Thanks everyone!

-Greg

Not sure if it'll work with your radio, but I'm installing one on my WK Hemi via a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Android has an app which connects nicely, and does full diagnostics/error clearing as well as live data.

Hiya!

So you are getting the Garmin ecoRoute HD but then using it with your phone, correct?

Which Android app will you be using? Maybe they have an iPhone version
