having trouble with aftermarket radio install

I'm trying to install a single din alpine stereo. I've got everything wired up, hooked up the radio and attempted to listen to a CD and got no sound. It powers on cycles through all the menus inserts and ejects discs but no sound. I'm attempting this install in an 07 grand Cherokee Laredo with Boston acoustics sound system. This is probably about my millionth stereo install and never had this problem before.

Re: having trouble with aftermarket radio install

If you are not running external amps, is the head unit's internal amplifier deactivated in the system menu?

Cheers,
Steve

Which adapter harness did you use? Here is a link to help you choose the right one.

Re: having trouble with aftermarket radio install

It might be that the module being used does not support Boston Acoustics amplifiers.

This one works:
Crux Soocr 26 2005 Up Dodge Chrysler Stereo Replacement Interface Wiring Harness | eBay

Or the combo module with Steering wheel retention:
Crux SWRCR-59 | Radio Replacement w/ SWC Retention for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep VEHICLES 2004-2013
