This must be it.. $129 to gain 76 watts? Would it be worth it?

Re: Head unit experts.. Help please?

Definitely depends on the HU. I think you are coming from a Jenson so you will notice a difference with a Pioneer HU.

And if you want my opinion and if your like me and don't care about amps on door speakers, just don't buy the $130 wire harness. I did however upgrade my speakers and will be upgrading again to Pioneer D-Series.

You could sell the factory BA amp that you disconnected.

Re: Head unit experts.. Help please?

^ way easier said than done on a WK with a BA system. In fact I strongly recommend you use the factory amp. The speaker connections are actually wired to the amp and they are wired separately as well as the amp also acts as a crossover. They mid and tweet in the dash have their own connection. The door woofers are also separately connected. So it would be a bad idea to up and get rid of the amp.

Re: Head unit experts.. Help please?

If he has the BA system, Im having a very hard time believing it is properly wired. If you go WK Jeeps and see the wiring diagram you ll see what Im talking about

Re: Head unit experts.. Help please?

I have the BA system but my speaker wires have been wired directly to the HU, I will be picking up a PAC since I found it much cheaper on Ebay.. After I heard my brothers stock BA in his 08 WK, It sounded MUCH better than my upgraded system!!!

Re: Head unit experts.. Help please?

My current setup is basic, I have the stock BA amp but replaced all my speakers last year with RF Power and they have been great! My Jensen (60Wx4 18Wx4 RMS) has been great, but with the Pioneer, the sound sounds plain! even with a little tweaking of the EQ. And if you want my opinion and if your like me and don't care about amps on door speakers, just don't buy the $130 wire harness. I did however upgrade my speakers and will be upgrading again to Pioneer D-Series.

Yeah, you have to go a different rout now that the stock BA amp has been bypassed. I'm not familiar with the PAC set up but other Jeep owners have used it. For me I want to change out the stock BA amp with the Kicker OEM upgraded amp and associated speakers. I'll be limited with RMS on my set up but you can really go big on yours now. Check out some of the builds on here, some pretty cool stuff.
