Jeep Gets Hacked (again)

Seems the same hackers are at it again.

"allowed them to do new — and scarier — things, such as making the vehicle turn sharply while it was speeding down a country road. They also were able to make the vehicle unintentionally speed up, or remotely slam on its brakes."

In case you don't know any modern day vehicle can be "hacked".
To put this into perspective older cars can be stolen by crossing 2 wires or by using screwdriver yet you're afraid a nerd is going to turn thief and steal your Jeep.

Years ago nerds hacked cable boxes. No big deal.

Then they sold the technology so that anybody could do it.

Time will tell.

So all modern vehicles will have some form of vulnerability.
They're all hackable until that vulnerability is discovered and addressed with some type of software update. Microsoft has dealt with this for how many years now? How many different kernels out there are well known and used daily by programmers? Does this not mean these systems will continue to evolve into more secure systems? It's just technology growing another branch. It's not something we lose sleep over because we're worried about our cars being stolen by some guy with a laptop. I have a greater chance of being car jacked everytime I drive into certain parts of Chicago.
