Let Me See Your AfterMarket BackUp Camera

In the market for a new BackUp Camera for the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are many out there, just lookin for a nice unit, for a great price.

What do you guys recommend? Model numbers, photos, and videos would be great! This will be hooked to an aftermarket Kenwood Double Din.

Thanks

There is a new wireless backup cam the I read about recently on the CNET.com website. This one is expensive and is expected to retail for around $500 US. It plugs into the OBD port and the backup cam is built into the rear license plate frame. Works through you smartphone or tablet and comes this dash vent holder or can be dash mounted with an iPhone plus or Android free App. The wiring is eliminated by using the OBD2 port wiring through the existing electrical harness throughout the vehicle. The camera is expected to be able to add features and I would assume that the diagnostic port will have a pass through feature that will let you connect and OBD meter without disabling the backup camera.
The camera license plate holder is coded to the DBD plug that is expected to reduce damage or theft since the camera will not work without the plug.
I'm not sure if I remembered it correctly but the system will work through Bluetooth settings on your smart device. The backup cam is engaged when the transmission is placed in reverse. Night features and wide angle camera lens is built into the license plate frame. I believe that a proprietary locking screw is to be included that will make it nearly impossible to steal the camera.

I'm not sure if features are upgraded in the App programing such as adding motion detection for security that can be saved in cloud storage. You might want to search CNET.com or possibly wire . com as I read about it shipping soon. The best feature is the lack of need to wire the vehicle to the backup light and clip on mirror that is common in existing units.
