Matt, I saw your install in DIYMA. Where did you go through the firewall? It doesn't look like you drilled, but I can't tell.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

No running it under the car is out of the question, as long as you zip tie it every foot or so and make sure it wont catch on anything. BUT you will still have to drill a hole to get it in the jeep.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

Good point. I wish Matt would check this thread, his install picked a very nice spot that didn't look drilled. I'd love to know if he drilled it or not thoguh.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

You might be able to find a factory rubber grommet you can squeeze through, i was just below one that was under there but i could not get through the grommet. its really not an issue drilling, just make sure you are very careful and seal it when your done.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

I'm gonna take some pictures tomorrow. I did notive a rubber piece in the engine bay that looked like it was directly behind the radio, maybe he went in through there. If so, that'd be incredibly easy to run. If I have to drill, I'm just gonna take it to the shop to be done...that way if it gets ****ed up, it's on them instead of me.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

Matt is on vacation till the 4th...trust me I am awaiting his return as well! Yeah that is the only area I am worried about is where to enter the firewall...running the wires from the head unit to the rear for the amp will be fairly simple

Re: Lets get it bumpin

Check my build log later on tonight. I'm gonna post pics of where I penetrated the firewall. I'm stuck on what size screws to use to secure the sub in the enclosure. Why would they not include the screws? Needless to say, I'm extremely pissed off haha.

Re: Lets get it bumpin

What do you mean secure the sub enclosure? They sit loose in the back.

Correct, I didn't drill. I found a factory, un-used, grommet... pulled that, drilled a hole through it, replaced it back in the hole, ran my power wire, then sealed around the drilled hole/wire.

It was fairly obvious to spot, I wonder if my Jeep just randomly has one and some of you guys don't, hmm. Sucks for you guys
