I reread the instructions last night and it doesn't make explicit instructions to run the wire like I have done on other installations in the past. However, the power line over powers the signal to cut the feed over a certain MPH. I am away from my Jeep right now so I can't putz around with it. Do a Web search for the wiring for the backup camera and you should be able to find which wire to tie into. That is the new power source for the camera so you have to cut the stock one. Put a connector on it so you can join it back up again if you sell the truck and yank the CHR558 out again. I will do some more research on my end.

Give this page a shot.

It's under the convenience section. Looks like you want to tie into the dark green camera signal line at the tailgate connector but I would do more research. I am sure someone else has done this.

Re: Lockpick CHR558 Install Instructions - 2014 SRT

ok Ill look into it.... right now I'm going to just run a wire from the Lockpick to the tail gate and guess what wire it could be. I check the 2010 Ram's OEM camera diagram and it showing red to be the rear lamp. ill give it a try..

Did you try the dark green wire in pin location 6? I think that is camera signal. I will do some more research when I am not working off my phablet screen.

Re: Lockpick CHR558 Install Instructions - 2014 SRT

There two are green ones on the cameras harness. but two of them are for the tail gate lock. So the camera has 6 wires. Green, white, black, blue, yellow, red, green w/blue strip, and purple/green wire.

Guessing the yellow is for video, red for power, blue ? , and the other two idk. Ill try the green w/blue strip tomorrow...

Installation took me about 2.5 hours but if I did it again following these instructions it would take considerably less time. Keep in mind these instructions are the way I installed it and may not be the way you want to install it. Adjust accordingly. The SRT was the easiest of my three LockPick installations by far. This is due to the large amount of space behind the dash.

I will offer my candid feedback too and everyone can take it for what it's worth.

I have always been a fan of LockPicks and have them installed in all my vehicles. The CHR558 does not change my opinion about them. The CHR558 allows excellent iPod access and control by allowing the user to scroll through your iPod library just like you would on the actual device but by allowing you to use the steering wheel or radio controls. This is much easier than trying to find a song, artist, album, etc. using the touch screen on the SRT. The addition of the small remote gives you a third way to control functions of the LockPick.

The second reason why I like the LockPick is the video playback functionality. I have a 3.5 year old and rear seat entertainment is a must to keep her occupied regardless of how long the trip might be. For those of us who couldn't wait for the rear seat Blu ray system this is a very inexpensive alternative if you don't mind giving up your 8.4" screen while you drive. Just load up your iPod, select the iPod Apps function on the Lockpick and select which movie or show you want to play from your Ipod and you are all set. I will eventually have a rear seat screen setup and when I do I can route the AUX output from the Lockpick to that screen which will allow me to use the front screen while my daughter watches on the rear screen.

NAV in motion override is another great feature of the LockPick. The CHR558 is no different and allows the driver or passenger full access to the NAV menus while the vehicle is in motion.

Although not discussed in my instructions yet, I plan on installing a front camera. The LockPick allows unmatched control of up to four additional cameras. The front camera is a nice compliment to the stock rear view camera and is automatically activated at forward speeds of less than 7 MPH.

Only small drawback so far is that on the Cherokee SRTs we don't get LockPick touch screen functionality like some of other 2014 Chrysler products (300, Journey, and Charger). Would I use it if we had it? Probably, but the steering wheel controls are far more useful.

Feel free to PM me with any specific questions you might have. I will update my instructions as needed and repost.

Thanks again for your help. Installation took about 1.5 hours everything went smooth. Just doing some troubleshooting with A/V out for the headrest monitors I will eventually be purchasing.

Glad they worked out. I get to swap my modules tonight with the updated one that fixes the herringbone issue. Let me know what monitors you pick as I am looking to do the same.

Sounds good will do. Also you know what's a little different. My toggle button is the VRR button and the BACK button not the screen off. Thought that was interesting.

Just to be clear...to activate the Lockpick you can either depress the VR button for 2 seconds or hold down the BACK button below the 8.4" screen for 2 seconds. Once you are in the Lockpick menus and are playing music via your iPod and want to get back to the NAV screen you press the SCREEN OFF button to get back to the standard vehicle display screen (not Lockpick menu)

I think that is what you are saying above but just wanted to be clear. This is explained in the latest Lockpick instructions. I found it much easier to activate the Lockpick via the BACK button below the main screen.

Yes that is correct. That's what I think I meant. Good to know about the Screen Off to go back to NAV.

Can you send me a video of your herringbone before you swap out your lockpick?

thanks

Re: Lockpick CHR558 Install Instructions - 2014 SRT

Can anyone confirm that the backup cam can be accessed at any speed without having to hook up any additional wiring to the back cam?

I can confirm that you CANNOT access the backup camera above 10 MPH unless you provide the power from the LockPick per their note on their website.

NOTE: CHRYSLER HAS CHANGED THE SOFTWARE FOR RECENT PRODUCTION RAM AND GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES SO THAT THE FACTORY REAR CAMERA IS NOT POWERED AT SPEEDS ABOVE 10 MPH. THE LOCKPICK CANNOT ACTIVATE THIS CAMERA WHILE IN DRIVE UNLESS THE REAR CAMERA POWER SUPPLIED BY THE LOCKPICK IS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE REAR CAMERA. ALL OTHER LOCKPICK FUNCTIONS STILL OPERATE

What we found is that on the Ram at least the correct wire to power also causes the backup guide lines to disappear once it is powered from the LockPick
