Do you mean eliminating the cup holders?

i was thinking the other side of the shifter...

i just think it would be a huge pain in the ass to relocate the HVAC unit that far away from where it already exists.

a cup holder delete mod for HVAC in your case might not be such a bad idea actually.

You might be right about being a PITA, but I don't think there are any cables back there like the old school HVAC's. Just electrical wires that I can see, so I would just cut the harness and run new wire to where I want to relocate the unit. I would just have to fabricate the box or bezel it will be in. At least that's my theory. Lol. In the end it will probably look like an airplane cockpit when I'm done.

Re: Making a custom in dash iPad dock

you should be fine if you run everything correctly... im just worried for the wires and how clean it will look... they will have to run behind the pillars and im not sure there is a ton of room back there to fit them cleanly, i could be wrong.

if i were you i'd take several pictures of your interior and ideas where to put the HVAC and photoshop it in there to see what it would look like before doing any fabs

Re: Making a custom in dash iPad dock

Haven't been able to work on it cause of work (restaurant hours). I'll probably take the pillars out today after work. Hopefully see enough room to run the wires.

I've been thinking about a way to make the screen tilt and pan, like a side view mirror, using a power side view mirror motor. What do you guys think? Will it move the weight?

Update: I just got the "NEW" iPad ( stupid name), so I'm going to make the pan for the iPad again. I felt like the other one was too snug and wouldn't be able to fit a fabric in there. So I'm going to wrap it in fabric then tape and mold the fiberglass to that. I'll post pics later.
