No , I'm planning an out of state trip and I want to make sure that my maps are up to date. I want to update the maps for cheap and not spend alot of $$$, but if Navteq is the only place to get the update then bye-bye $225 lol.
Well since I could find no other options of finding the map update cheaper I bit the bullet and bought the update disc from Navteq. There is alot of new and realigned roads in my area, and they just built a new major highway in the city Im traveling to, so it will probably be worth it to have a more accurate nav.
The mygig pulls your vin from the computer so you shouldn't have any problems, it took my jeep awhile to acquire the vin from the pcm once I installed the radio.
I ordered the latest map update, which was named "CHRYSLER GROUP – 2015 NORTH AMERICAN MAP FOR UCONNECT® 730N (RER)" with part number "U3540-0075-406" The web site and the confirmation email all said the same thing... 2015. But when the DVD arrived the DVD case label clearly stated "Chrysler RER NA 2014" not 2015.... Did I just get ripped off? The part number is the same but clearly the years are different.
I called HERE (the new Navteq name) and they insist that it is the 2015 update... and admit that it came out in June 2014, but it is the 2015 product..... I would expect (just like buying a car) that you can get it early but it usually has the next year in the name... my 2009 was bought in 2008. But the map is called 2015 but packaged as 2014....
Am I over analyzing this or am I actually getting shorted by Navteq/HERE ?
I've got an update from Navteq. Says it is for RER/REW/REP, version 2.404. Purchased 1/22/13 for my 2011 JGC. $50.00 for shipping and handling and it is yours.
