Very; 3 screws, un-plug the banana plug (speaker wire terminals) - can be done in about minute.

I got it at Circuit City (LOL) - it's the Metra kit. $20 bucks. You can find it anywhere online, not sure who sells Metra locally. Maybe an audio shop... I think Best Buy sells American International or something like that.

Yeah, I actually flipped the slots, so I would have the open slot on top (I planned on making some sort of navigation mount for my Garmin). All I had to do was trim two little guidance tabs.

Hey Matt,

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna run these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...LUAIC4-18.html

You said I need 3 sets? Do I need one set per driver size? I just assumed I needed 1 set per Amp...

What exactlky did you use to calculate your box configuration? I tried winISD, and Unibox and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing lol. I'm gonna go in a slightly different direction than yours so I need different dimensions.

RCA's: Yes, you'll need 3 pairs total (one per driver set, so 1 for the Fostex, 1 for the Peerless, 1 for the Mag). So you can do that 4 channel RCA and then get a 2 channel RCA. Each pair of RCA's will transport their specific frequency range and other DSP features selected at the receiver.

Check out KnuKonceptz for RCA's and any other wiring, very solid products at fair prices. Check out the "Karma" RCA product line. Top notch stuff!

Enclosure: I used WinISD Beta. Don't use the fancy version of WinISD... it's far more complicated to achieve the same basic result. Honestly, I'd check out that thread over on DIYMA about the Mag. WinISD is great for playing with enclosure size and tuning frequencies, but the Mag is designed specifically for sealed alignments, so I'd just use the recommended enclosure by those on DIYMA and roll with that.

That box looks awesome Matt! i might do something similar but the only problem would be me losing my spare tire.

Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log

just downloaded the winisd beta and holy crap is that hard to figure out. You did an awesome job on the entire build. I'm going to build a new enclosure for my fifteen soon and then redo my entire audio setup. can't wait

What di you use to seal up your door panels?

haha, yeah it can be very intimidating at first, but just do some reading/researching about it (DIYMA is a great source) and you'll get the hang of it.

Awesome! Pics are a must (but you already knew that, lol).

Once I deadened the outer door skin, I sealed them up by using aluminum flashing (you can get very cheap at any hardware store). Then just deaden over that. Remember not to seal the holes at the bottom of the door... they are there to let rain seep out if it gets past the window sill.

Keep an eye out for Andy's build (username: Karpe) - he is going to be sealing/deadening the doors using the same method.
