Factory RAQ unit set flat (bass: 0, mid: 0, treb: 0, fade/balance: 0), volume set at "20" - this is where my gains will be set. Staging and tonal balance is very nice! I may tweak some of the RAQ settings (slightly), but for no EQ or any other DSP features I am quite impressed! Here is the breakdown of each driver in the vehicle:
Left Dash Speaker: Reverse - HPF: 200hz - 100w/20%
Right Dash Speaker: Reverse - HPF: 200hz - 100w/20%
Left Fr Door Speaker: Normal - HPF: 80hz - 100w/15%
Right Fr Door Speaker: Normal - HPF: 80hz - 100w/15%
Rears: Normal (untouched) - Full range - factory (volume set @ 20 units)
Sub Woofer: Reverse - LPF: 60hz - 515w/30%
Awesome stuff... do you live in Avalon Park - in what looks to be Avalon Lakes? I used to live with a friend of mine that bought a house back there from 2005-2007.
haha yeah. Once I'm done with school and get a well-paying job I'm probably going to do a pretty serious sound quality system. ugh - that means more work, lol.

haha, my services are always available for JG members.
But yeah, that was my main goal: clean and simple. I wanted it to look as factory as possible and not loose a lot of space in the cargo area. Using a slanted back for the enclosure to cover the negative space back there was really helpful.
Thanks for the positive remarks John!!
If there is enough interest I can get enclosure specs (dimensions, angles, etc) and maybe mail out templates for the curved pieces that sit flush on the sides.
haha, I'm going to have some down time in about 3 weeks - with that time I'd like to get a how-to add a sub/amp to the factory stereo and an enclosure dimension/template PDF. In due time.
Give me a few weeks and I'll get full enclosure specs and templates for you guys.
Never did the Big 3 - planned to, but never got around to it... never really needed to either, but it can only help and I have extra 4 gauge laying around.
Man, I've been all over DIYMA reading this last few days, lol. Don't be surprised if I start up another active system in the next month or so, haha. I blame you for that Andy!!!
Hey, very nice sound setup and wiring jobs. I have to ask if you've ran into any cooling issues with the amp, being that it is enclosed in a nearly air-tight spot? I would think it gets very toasty in there which can lead to failure over short time. Just a thought and curiosity.
I haven't had any issues with heat (yet - crosses fingers). I live in the middle of Florida and have gone on 2-3 hour drives beating the hell out of my stereo and checked to see how hot she got and it wasn't that bad.
When I was doing my research on it (over on DIYMA) I found that many well respected members are on the side that car electronics are made to be installed in high temp situations and they are built to handle the riggers of the mobile environment. To do a proper/effective ventilation/cooling system is a lot more work than slapping some CPU fans in there and calling it a day. There was way more science behind it than I willing to study and just sort of scrapped the whole idea.
For real man, that was a huge concern of mine (losing cargo space). I feel like I lost nothing with this and i like the fact that it looks like it belongs there.
I will definitely do a really nice Google Sketch-Up drawing with dimensions angles and whatnot. I'll see if I can tweak it to be able to accompany a 12" driver as well. The only concern with this enclosure is mounting depth. I believe I had 6 inches or so to work with. Give me a few weeks to get it going though.
It entirely depends on the sub Chris. Some 10's are good with .3 ft^3 others need 3 ft^3. I think I'm going to convert to 2 10's next go around. I'll just modify my current enclosure to house them.
So if I were to get your plans later on, but modify the front for 2 subs, the room should be ok for say, 2 cvr's? do you know exactly how much cubic space your box is?
