Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log Part II

Wow, Very impressive. all i want to do myself is get a JL stealthbox and a mono amp. BUt since I am a novice/rookie, I am going to be winging it.

I don't know most of the necessities but Your other guide has helped a lot.

So far for the JL stealthbox, a 10 inch 300w sub, i think I am supposed to get the fosgate 400.1 not sure though. I will keep searching everywhere for insight on this setup.

P.S. I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee limited 5.7 hemi with a REC stereo.

Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log Part II

Matt - you've done a great job on your setup, and with the fiberglassing.

Did you ever get the dash speakers put in? I hate the 3.5" as they won't get as loud as I want without distortion. I have a great pair of 4" components in my sitting in my closet. Did you modify the OEM dash speaker grill?

How do the 7" sound in the door? Do you have just the mid-bases in the door and mids/tweets in the dash? If so, how do you like the setup? I listen to a lot of rap music so I think the 7" mid-basses in doors with the 4" components in the dash would sound great.

Also - did you ever get around to molding kick panels? I've done this on a few of my older cars but not sure how much room I would have to work with in the GC. Would love to see pics

Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log Part II

Good stuff. I'm looking into getting rid of my Rockford Stage 3's and upping them to some Fi SSD or Q12s. Havent decided yet. Probably the Q's... but we'll see. Need the extra 500 laying around first.

TClass - you got a picture of your stealth box? How do the Boston S35 sound?

Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log Part II

bumpin,

I got the pictures here at my set-up thread,
First Audio Setup

As for the Boston S35's sound much crisper and they are louder at a volume of 24/38 then older one's could get at max volume on REC Stereo. If you need pics, I will be happy to send em. I'm scared to go to max volume with stock amp. haha

I am planning on replacing my door speakers next. I think its only necessary to switch out rear doors. i'll see how they sound with the stock 288w Boston amp. otherwise i will be getting a nice 4-chan.

Re: Matt's 2006 WK Stereo Build Log Part II

No need for pics, thanks though. I don't notice much difference with my rear door speakers as most of the music is upfront anyways. In my old car I had no speakers in the back and my buddies hated sitting back there because there was no sound, just bass, haha. I actually have my 4 channel amp running my dash and front doors right now so I could adjust the power to each separately, and then have the rear doors running off the head unit.

Whats up man, nice work on your WK...I just got a 2005 myself and I was wondering how did you run your amp power wire from the battery to the inside. Thx in advance
