Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

i would start here: http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm

there is not much to absorb to make the myGig work. just this 300 dollar harness.

Installed: MyGig 730N RER in a 2007 Limited a person who has done it recently.

Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

I am aware of the harness...My main question is this, Are all the Mygig units the same from jeep -dodge-chrysler? I know i need a low speed unit but will a mygig work reguardless which part number it has if its from diamler/chrysler?

Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

they will basically all be the same once you update them. i just finished this install in a 2006. installation was easy enough, coastal tech provided excellent instructions.

I bought my rer on ebay and it came out of a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. No issues whatsoever. I just updated the software and Gracenotes upon installation(coastaltech supplied).

i have posted this pic in a few other posts. the filler bezel does not match the oem radio bezel you will have to order. to me this ruined the factory theme. i primered the filler bezel and painted both the same color to match the radio.

Overall its an awesome mod, very much worth doing. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

I'm interested in doing this upgrade as well in my 06. So basically all I need is the mygig low speed unit, probably found on ebay? And then the lockpick and a bezel?

Just starting looking into this, if there is any writeup on the whole process anywhere it would be really helpful!

Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

there are a few write ups that can be found by searching. it is still very confusing to decipher them. you will need oem radio nav bezel that can be purchased on ebay or just for jeeps, be sure you get the correct color; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-...Q5fAccessories

Also you will need; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MYGIG...Q5fAccessories

A lockpick/adapter; http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG_ADAPTER.htm

a gps antenna; http://www.oemautopartsco.com/index.php?m
ain_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=7cf11e6619d5567d865d6 b12e0841935

oemautopartco.com has many other accessories such as rear view cameras and ipod interfaces.

GOOD LUCK!! Its worth it...

Re: my gig rer for an 05wk

What's the difference between low speed and high speed adapters?

The 2007 MY changed to a can-bus system. So does that mean my 07 can have either the high speed or the low speed MyGig?

Thanks for the help..
