You got me wondering what you mean? I wanted to match the contour of the side panel.
I stretched fabric and stapled it to the MDF I used more staples than you see in the picture. I used fiberglass cloth cut up and soak them with resin. After it hardend I sanded it. The light colored stuff is polyester body filler to get it semi smooth.

I really take that as a compliment. But I swear as I was doing this one I said to myself I'm sorry I started it. I posted it here so we all could share the info.
Thanks, Joe

No need to wonder bud! I am just used to seeing the contoured area masked off and then molded with resin/mat.

Check out this forum... though I just realized that they have removed guest view, so would need to register. There is some pretty unreal builds on there.

Oh, I know what you mean. I kind of just winged it. There are better ways of doing it. If I could have removed the panel and lay it flat, then I could have masked it and used it for a mold.
I never really gave a sub much thought till I saw your thread here.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Re: MY WK Custom Sub Enclosure

Do you have any templates from your build at all? You could even make cardboard template pieces and sell them too.

LOL, I just winged mine to and I wouldn't say better ways, different sure, but structurally they'll be identical and sound the same. I had just never seen it done that way.

Re: MY WK Custom Sub Enclosure

Remember I said if it came out bad no body would see the pics? Well, "alls well that ends well".

BTW that bevel square, the tool in the first pics. It lets you copy angles so easy and accurate. $4.95.

Thanks for the compliments.
