I have an '08 JK that came with an RER. I recently replaced the RER with a 2012+ RHR unit from a Chrysler Town and Country. Current version numbers are as follows...

App. = 2.184
Gracenotes = 5411
DBase = HRT5-N 1214 4.3.1
SDS = 237246
Maps = N311 1214 4.3.1

I ordered the RHR 2013.5 update per the Navigation.com website. My shipping packing list says 2013.2? Once I opened the case, the software update disc shows 2.136 printed on the disc. The map update, once inserted in the radio, says...

-->Update from N311 1214 4.3.1

------------>to N212 1249 4.41 ?

My App. is already up to date past this 2013.5 disc.

Questions...

1. Do I by chance have a 2013.2 disc? No where is it identified as either 2013.2 or 2013.5.

2. What do I look at to tell if my maps need updating? Do I look at N311 vs. N212? Or do I look at the numbers that follow? Does anyone know what the N*** prefix stands for?

Thanks for your help! Navigation.com said once the package has been opened, they won't take it back. There is NO WAY to know what disc is inside that sealed jacked unless you open it!

As usual...SOX(Marco) answered my question!

N311 means 3rd quarter of 2011
N212 means 2nd quarter of 2012

It's a real shame that Navteq can't help their customers better than just selling the updates.

If any of you ever have the chance to provide feedback to Navteq(HERE Maps), please let them know your dissatisfaction with their return policy. If you open the clear plastic shrink wrap on the CD case, they will NOT take it back. Nevermind the fact that the case is not marked as to what version you are getting. You have to open the case to see the software version on the disc, and you have to insert the disc to see the maps version.

Thanks Marco for your help!
