The navigation on my RER nav radio is not working right, it doesnt display the correct area or direction on the map and not matter what I have done, updated software to ver 2.045, disconnected battery and turned gps on and off., nothing will work, sometimes it will work but most times it acts stupid. Help!!

I talked to the dealer and they told me that sometimes it can take awhile for the gps to acquire satellite signals, depending where I am it can take up to 20 minutes to acquire the satellites. Since Ive been doing short trips around town it doesn't have a chance to get a signal in time.
I did have to take a 150 mile trip today and It was working fine the whole way, it took me to the right address as well. I guess I should only use it when I need it, but I've gotten spoiled:D

That's what they told me. They said I need at least four satellites to get an accurate display on the map and sometimes it can take 20 minutes. At least it works most of the time and it doesn't mess up on the road.

Maybe your GPS antenna came dislodged and moved around under the dash and it is having trouble picking up clear signals?

It definitely shouldn't take 20 minutes. If you are in a clear area it shouldn't even take 20 seconds.

Update: I finally had time to check out the gps antenna and I moved it to the middle of the cluster housing and put the bezel back on, it seems like the gps is acquiring the satellites much faster and it can find up to 7 satellites as well. I hope this solves my problem.
