need Khaki carpeting for Sub enclosure

I'm going to be building a Sub enclosure soon and I want to wrap it with Carpeting that will match the one on the back of the rear seats of my `07 Grand Cherokee Khaki interior.

Anyone know a place online that I can find a good match? In the meantime I'll be searching Locally.

Thanks in advance,

Andy, have you tried searching/posting over on DIYMA... I'm sure plenty of guys know of good resources to get carpet. It will probably be an online store though which makes it tough to compare. Khaki seems like it would be a pretty forgiving color though, so.

Not yet, just trying all my sources.

Hey what is the volume of your box? I need 1ft^3 but my plan is to make it similar to the look of yours but half of the "box" will be hiding my amps.

I've been taking a lot of beach trips lately and water and sand are getting down in the cargo area, so I had to ditch the false floor plan

Gotcha.

Volume of my enclosure is 1.25 cu ft. gross (before sub displacement). I pretty much used all the available space from the back of the seat forward to the removable floor cover and keeping the use of the cargo pull cover thingy. It may be hard to squeeze a pair of amps and a 1 cube enclosure in that space.

I'll start a Build Log soon. I've gotta get some measurements of the interior to Don. I'm going with his products instead of the traditional layers of dampening.

Can I link to other forums here? I've got a thread going on DIYMA for people helping me find midbass and tweets that seems to be looking like I may go with dedicated Midbass and fullrange speakers in the dash. Where have I see that before?

Don...? "6spdcoupe" Don? Second Skin is solid stuff man. Very nice.

Yeah, you can link to other forums... probably not a rival forum, but DIYMA is cool. Man, I havn't been on DIYMA in forever... probably haven't posted since February.

Guilty :D

Honestly, I didn't miss a thing on the top end by using a full range driver in place of a traditional tweeter. Anything over 12khz is really not worth worrying about (unless your competing of course) IMO - a moving vehicle and other factors pretty much drown out anything over 12khz.

Look into the Dayton RS100, Vifa TG9, CSS FR125SR, CSS WR125ST... those were some of the full ranges I was looking into at the time. Went with the RS100's... I loved them! Very good budget driver.

The cargo area already has a decent sound deadening mat on the metal floor. I pulled mine up while doing the false floor and laid a layer of Grace Ultra peel and stick weatherproofing membrane and doubled that up where I cut the stock soundproofing where my amps sit to give an inch of extra depth then put the stock mat back down. Grace Ultra and Grace Vycor Butyl are basically the same as Dynamat and cost much less and Homedepot carries it. Where as Grace Vycor Plus is an asphalt based membrane that softens and runs in heat and Grace Ice and Water shield is an SBS based adhesive that can withstand higher temps, but not as good as the Butyl rubber based Grace Ulta or Grace Vycor Butyl membranes. For my doors I used a self adhered EPDM membrane that is made for permanent exposure and will not melt from the heat. Dont use anything asphalt based that will tend to run in the doors from the heat, look for butyl based membrane. Can do the entire car with these products for the price of doing one door with dynamat.
