Need wiring help!

Ok, so I scored a Alpine CDA 117. I bought the PAC Chrysler adapter and tried it with the OEM plug in my '05 Ltd GC and snaps right in.

I wired everything fine (Im very experienced in this but this is my first canbus system) and with the advice of PAC I mated PACs fused yellow wire with the Alpines yellow wire. I was told not to bother with the non-fued PAC yellow wire unless I was going to add a fuse myself so I didnt.

Plugged the unit in, and turned the key. Nothing. The Alpine doesnt even fire up. I looked at wkjeeps and saw the pinout... there are TWO +B pins (#1 & #12). One is directly over the other. Looking at the PAC wiring, same thing, same position although the bottom one (Pin #12) isnt fused like mention above...

Call me an idiot but should I take both Yellow wires off the PAC and mate them with the power wire on the alpine? Im kind of confused here.

Re: Need wiring help!

Ill give it a try. This is where I wish I had a volt meter... i never get around to buying one because I seldom need them.

Ill try the second by itself and if that doesnt work... ill wire the effer to the battery and tap into the left power outlet for my remote wire and ground to the dash fame... lets hope the PAC will still function.

Re: Need wiring help!

Well, now im pissed. I rewired it and tried again. Nothing. I plugged the stock radio back in and I got NOTHING. I checked all the fuses in the Jeep and nothing is blown. I am now thoroughly pissed off. I can see myself hardwiring it when I get home after my 7 hour drive to get there. I havent hardwired a vehicle in over ten years and yet I get to hardwire my own for occasion.

To top it off, I pretty much wasted $80 on a PAC unit that isnt necessary anymore.

**** me.

Note: I didnt pull the fuses in the engine bay... but I didnt see anything hat would relate to a radio.

Re: Need wiring help!

I have the PAC harness I installed myself. I followed the diagram exactly. When I get home ill try to dig it out and see. I know there are little notes on the install sheet, about wiring it different between CD players and NAV units.
