New Stereo Install

So I've been wanting to redo my stereo install for a while now mainly because the previous box I had was too high so it made getting stuff in the back of my Jeep a pain. Plus the subs were not covered and I was always worried about them getting punctured by something. The last three photo's didn't turn out the best since I had to take them in the dark to get the blue LED lights to show up.

Let me know what you guys think!

Here's what the stock look was:

Here is what the back of my Jeep looked like after the first install (back in 2010):

Here's the new install....

Re: New Stereo Install

That looks awesome. Just one question though, Where are you storing your jack now that you have removed the false floor? I know just a pitiful question. Good job on the install.

Re: New Stereo Install

My jack is in the compartment on the right side behind the mesh net. I also made sure to leave access to the but to lower the spare tire. Didn't take a pic of it though as the wiring is a mess. I always leave extra wire incase I want change it up in the future, plus no one sees it.

Re: New Stereo Install

Where did you ground your amps? I grounded mine to the rear hatch latch bracket, drilled and tapped a separate hole. But this position reads 1 ohm difference to battery negative. Just wondering if this is a good place to ground or is there a better place?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, sorry to jack your thread.

Re: New Stereo Install

Jravey - I grounded my amps on the white bolt/nut next to the rear hatch latch bracket. It's been like that for the last 4 years and no issues so far. I've never tested the ohms to determine if it's the same or different from the battery, so I can't attest to that. I would say unless you are having problems with your amp, like shutting off, you should be fine. Of course I'm sure there are others out there who would disagree with me, but that's my 2 cents. Let me know if you have any other questions, anything I can help people out with on here I'm happy to do.
