Problem after my install

So get this... sometimes (relatively rarely) when i start the jeep up, the speakers don't get sound. The sub does, but not the speakers.

i have to turn the key to "off" and open the door (which kills the power to the HU which resets it) then start over again.

any input? whats that sound like? I figured maybe the stock amp isnt getting the power signal?

background:
Pioneer AVHP4200DVD
I have an interface that takes RCA inputs and plugs into the stock harness.
the stock amp and speakers are being used.

does the remote wire to the stock amp run through the new harness? could be a bad connection. also does the sub amp use the same remote wire (tapped in)? the next time it happens you should test and see if the remote wire has voltage on both sides of the connector if used. if not through the new harness still test the voltage at the amplifier remote wire.

any questions just ask.

there is a separate remote wire for the sub amp, so maybe the harness is giving me trouble. Thanks!

I think I am having issues with my i-PAC adapter too...except mine only messes with the Open/eject/close function. Do you have the same i-PAC adapter?

Sometimes it will not open, sometimes it will not eject, and sometimes it will not close. All random, no pattern...weird! anyone else have "glitches" with their PAC's?

Yah some people have been blamming it on cheap terminals. they don't fit right so they get augered a little bit.

I'm late again. yes! I get the same problem! I've noticed that if the the driver's door is closed before the passenger's, I will have no sound the next time I start up the jeep. I have to turn the jeep off and power it back up....I've had and AVIC D3 and a F900bt and they both did the same thing. Must be something with the way voltage or signal is distributed though the system.

you think a delay is the problem? i dont experience this "pop" C-field is describing.

I will def have to try this if you think thats the issue.

i was also considering just tossing a switch onto the power wire that goes to the head unit. This way, i can leave the Jeep ON, and just switch the H/U off and on again. would this damage it?

have you updated your nav unit? mine has run A LOT smoother since I updated...might want to look into that too...mine would stick open/closed, and sometimes would not eject. Since updating the software I have not had one problem, and the interface is better!

you'll need to check pioneer.com to see what updated v of software they have. if its a minor DOT update they are usually free. they will charge for some of the bigger updates like to a new number.

about the delay; just like you said, my installer added a switch. IF i remember I turn my nav off with the switch and after my Jeep is running, theni hit the power on.
