Rain sensing wipers possible aftermarket?

I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee limited recently and was surprised that automatic wipers weren't a standard feature. Obviously its not that big of a deal but I was curious if anyone had added rain sensing wipers aftermarket. I saw they sell a sensor on mopar site but wasn't sure if it's was only for malfunctioning jeeps that had auto rain sensors from the factory

Is this a possible aftermarket addition?

If so has anyone done it?

Re: Rain sensing wipers possible aftermarket?

I have a 2015. I'm wondering if I can disable the rain-sensing and speed-sensing (if it still has this) and just adjust the damn things myself, like I've been doing for 30 years.

not much speed sensing, IIRC it just doubles the delay below 10mph. I don't think this can be changed.

Rain sensing can be disabled in the uconnect menus under safety/assist or something like that.. check your manual.

I only mention the speed sensing because my 2013 had that by itself and I didn't like it.

I'm assuming the 2015 might have both.

I don't know if Jeep will do it or how difficult it would be with the goofy stalk Jeep uses, but there are aftermarket kits. One of the guys in the Miata forum just installed this option on his Miata. Can't remember where he got it, but do a google search and I bet you'll come up with kits. Whether they will work on the Jeep is another question.
