Re-Installing factory radio?

Hi all, I'm new here so go easy on me!
I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, bought it used. The previois owner did a total hack-job on the radio when he installed his aftermarket piece of crap. There's wires in the rear where he must have had some bass system in. The aftrmarket radio is a PITA to program. Anywho, I got my hands on an OEM radio/cd/casette, went to install it thinking it would be a simple plug and play thing... boy was I wrong! This guy spliced all the wires in the original wiring harness! So now I don't have any connector pins to put the (old) new radio in. Has anyone ever seen/experienced this? Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Re: Re-Installing factory radio?

Find a junk yard and get the original plugs and splice them back in. Should be easy if you get ones from the same year, just match up the colors. I would also recommend soldering and shrink wrapping no wire nuts!! good luck.

Re-Installing factory radio?

Metra makes a reverse wire harness you can use to solder to the stock wires and be able to plug in the factory stereo.

Any local BestBuy or car audio shop will stock this:
