Remote 12v?

Is there a remote 12v that turns on the factory amp is the WK/Wk2? I believe its all this "bus" stuff or whatever that is, but I found the 12v that is on the amp but nothing that turns on/off with the radio... The signal sensing technology just isn't all that yet. Trying not to have to run a switch... or have it (amp) on whenever the car is on and radio is off.

For now the audio control runs a 12v out to the amp. Ign would work too I just would like to find something that goes hot when you turn on the radio but I don't think you can on the 11

It's all handled by the CANBUS for the radio and the amp...

I'm new to WK... do you guys have a switched lighter on the dash, or in the console. If so, you can tap off of that to use as a remote 12vdc turn on, only.

In the LX platform, there is a switched/non-switched lighter in the dash. The fuse for it is in the rear power distribution block (fuse 18, or 19). It has two options... one is for always on, the other is switched with the ignition.

You might want to check your fuse block(s) to see if there are any options like this for what you are planning.

Hope this helps.

Bob

<EDIT> Just checked the '08 Service Manual and it looks like fuse 14 controls the dash power port. Take a look at that in the fuse box and see if it has alternate positions to choose from. It will be either inline with the rest of the fuses, or offset (up or down).
