Rubberized Undercoat for soundproofing???

I figured I would post this question here, since im looking to soundproof my entire car for my stereo system. I picked up some undercoating today because it says it is for soundproofing as well as a rust protectant. Does anyone have any technical experience with it, as in if it even helps with soundproofing and where to use it? I am going crazy with ripping my car down and soundproofing everything because i want it completely quiet or as close to it as i can get. Im about to do my hood in mass loaded vinyl and mineral wool insulation packed in the hood framing then putting the stock pad back.

Re: Rubberized Undercoat for soundproofing???

i used to use undercoatings not really for sound, but just for rust and road protection, and heat. we did notice a decrease in noise, but that wasnt what we were after. we used "Lizard skin"

Where did you use it? Did you coat the axle and moving parts, or just the body? I was thinking all under the car and on the plastic fender walls. Im not sure how that would look though in the wheel wells showing, so was thinking removing them and doing the inside part of them, to help with the tire noise. Its on sale at advanced auto so its a good time to do it when the price is cheap. The duplicolor paint is 50% also so im stocking up on paints.
