Scratched Touch Screen Repair

I scratched the touch screen for the audio/navigation system in my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Is there any repair short of replacing the screen that would resolve this.

Are replacement screens available?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I partially disassembled my old door with the cracked touchscreen.

The touchscreen component looked like a thin layer of plastic bonded to the glass capacitive touchscreen (I guess to help contain any broken glass haha).

If the scratch is only superficial that didn't gouge the plastic, I would try taking some plastic polish to see if that works.

If it is gouged (or deeper), I think your best bet is to replace the entire door. That plastic wasn't separating from the glass, even with all the broken shards. Not to mention most of the replacement capacitive screens I saw on ebay have a black border (the RHB's does not) for tablets and are probably the wrong size anyway.

I don't know much about these capacitive screens, so someone else might have a better idea.
