Bingo.

The speaker won't sound 'scratchy' if it's in phase or out of phase. If it's out of phase, you will get cancellation or an odd sounding stage, but the speaker will still function 100%.

I have the phase flipped on half of my speakers

My guesses Ryan:

Bad speaker
Bad channel on the amp
Bad wiring

Try testing the speaker on a different amplifier channel.
